Our Story

From the simplest, yet humblest of beginnings, my baking adventure sprung to life in my kitchen. Think flour dust, late nights, and the sheer joy of creating something delicious. From there, it was a whirlwind – market stalls buzzing with chatter, then a brilliant stint at the NoW Food tech centre at Chester Uni.

But then, the real magic happened. We got the keys to the Machine House in Rossett! Honestly, it was a bit of a fixer-upper, let's just say that. We rolled up our sleeves, launched a cracking crowdfunding campaign (massive thanks to everyone who chipped in!), and transformed it. Now, our kitchen's humming, supplying top-notch goodies to farm shops and cafes.

And guess what? We're not stopping there! We're throwing open the doors to our very own coffee house and bakery, right here in the heart of Rossett. With the incredible Ella leading the charge in the kitchen, it's going to be absolutely brilliant. Honestly, we're buzzing with excitement about being part of this fantastic community.

Oh, and because we're not just about baking amazing stuff, we're a social enterprise too. Seeing the positive impact we're having in the community, and hearing all the amazing feedback, well, it just makes everything worthwhile. Like what one of our incredible supporters said during our crowdfunder: 'Humble & Whole is more than just a bakery, it's a real asset to Rossett. It's bringing people together and making a difference.' Every loaf, every pastry, it's all about making a difference.
